Hesston waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They took down the Great Bend Panthers 54-40. The score was all tied up 23-23 at the break, but the Swathers were the better team in the second half.

Hesston pushed their record up to 18-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Great Bend, their loss dropped their record down to 17-2.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Hesston will challenge Belle Plaine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Great Bend, they will square off against Hays at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hays knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Great Bend likes a good challenge.
