The Westford Academy Grey Ghosts will take on the Reading Memorial Rockets at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Westford Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Westford Academy will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Cambridge Rindge & Latin on Wednesday. The Grey Ghosts blew past the Falcons 17-10. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Grey Ghosts as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Grace Janowsky was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Khloe Felicani, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Westford Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Reading Memorial won against Wilmington on Friday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Rockets had just enough and edged out Lexington 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rockets have posted since May 18, 2024.

Reading Memorial's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Westford Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
