With a playoff win on the line, Cranston East rose to the challenge on Sunday. They had just enough and edged out the North Kingstown Skippers 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Thunderbolts sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Defeat or not, North Kingstown got some senior leadership from Evan Shea and Stephen Dufour. Shea had 54 assists, while Dufour had 15 digs and two assists. Shea is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 18 or more in each of the last nine games he's played.
Cranston East's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for North Kingstown, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 26-1.
As of now, neither Cranston East nor the Skippers have any future games scheduled.
