Football Game Preview: Copiague Eagles vs. Smithtown East Bulls

Copiague hasn't had much luck against Smithtown East recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Bulls at 1:00 p.m.

On Friday, Copiague was beaten by Bellport 38-7. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while the Clippers are ranked 134th).

Meanwhile, Smithtown East waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Eagles, posting a 48-7 victory. That 41 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulls this season.

Smithtown East's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Copiague, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Copiague came up short against Smithtown East in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, falling 30-20. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
