Baseball Recap: Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Find Success

Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy won the last time they faced Pine and things went their way on Thursday too. The Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Swamp Owls came out on top against the Pine Raiders by a score of 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Swamp Owls.

Blake Schexnider made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. What's more, he also gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reese Delahoussaye, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Madden Williams was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pine, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy will challenge South Plaquemines at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pine, they will square off against Northlake Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
