If Aztec wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Grants, they should've done a better job of containing Mariah Melonas. The Pirates walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Tigers on Tuesday with plenty of help from Melonas, who had nine digs and two assists. She also put up an ace, which was her first of the season.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 20-25, 25-16, 25-22.

Grants' win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Aztec, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Grants and Valencia will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Pirates their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Aztec, they will host Moriarty at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
