Basketball Recap: Freeport Gets the Win

Freeport proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 35) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-50 victory over the Neuqua Valley Wildcats.

Paityn London continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 47% from the field on her way to 21 points in addition to six boards and five assists. The matchup was her seventh in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Maddie Davison, who posted nine points.

Freeport's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Neuqua Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Freeport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-45 victory against Hinsdale Central on the 26th. As for Neuqua Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-41 win against Stagg on the 26th.
