Baseball Recap: Vallejo Wins Going Away Against Kennedy

Vallejo's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Kennedy Eagles as they made off with a 14-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Redhawks in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

On the hitting side, Vallejo let David Bernstine III and Royce Pennington run wild. Bernstine III scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Pennington scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Vallejo is 4-1 when Bernstine III posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Peace, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Vallejo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennedy only posted an OBP of .344.

Vallejo's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Kennedy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Vallejo beat the Eagles by a score of 12-2 on Friday.
