Baseball Game Preview: Clarke County Eagles vs. Page County Panthers

The Clarke County Eagles will square off against the Page County Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarke County has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Clarke County lost 14-4 to Strasburg on Friday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Page County). They never let Stonewall Jackson get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Friday. The Panthers have beaten the Generals the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Generals has come to flipping the script.

Page County got a massive performance out of Gavin Henry, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Collin Murphy was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one triple.

Page County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.

Clarke County's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Page County, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Clarke County got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Page County by a conclusive 7-1 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
