Football Recap: Dawson County Tigers vs. Pickens Dragons
Dawson County scored the most points they've had all season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 35-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pickens Dragons. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Preston Bannister rushed for 36 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 156 yards on nine of 18 attempts.

Hayden Jones was his usual excellent self, rushing for 185 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 168 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.7% of his passes for Pickens. Jones' longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. 87 of those passing yards were hauled in by Mccord Purdy.
Dawson County dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Pickens, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
