Basketball Recap: Zaid Hermosillo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fort Hancock over Mccamey

If Fort Hancock was feeling good fresh off their 42-21 takedown of Van Horn last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fort Hancock Mustangs took a hard 60-41 fall against the McCamey Badgers on Tuesday. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Badgers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Fort Hancock lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Zaid Hermosillo, who posted six points and six steals. Fort Hancock is 8-4 when Hermosillo posts five or more steals, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jafit Arriaga, who put up six points.

Fort Hancock's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for McCamey, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Fort Hancock has already played their next contest (against Immanuel Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. McCamey will host Iraan at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
