Basketball Recap: Sallisaw Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Sallisaw won the last time they faced Stilwell and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Sallisaw Black Diamonds walked away with a 53-44 win over the Stilwell Indians. Given the Black Diamonds' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Indians are ranked 334th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sallisaw's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Stilwell, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Sallisaw has already played their next match, a 55-28 win against Stigler on the 13th. As for Stilwell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-54 victory against Poteau on the 14th.
