Football Recap: Conneaut Area Comes Up Short

Despite a strong season so far, Conneaut Area has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They lost to Grove City on the road by a 24-8 margin on Friday. Conneaut Area was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grove City apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Mason Stone threw for 83 yards and one TD. Alex Paskorz was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards. On the ground, Chance Meader rushed for 34 yards.

Jonah Stucchio had a dynamite game For Grove City., picking up 127 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 30 yards. Stucchio really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 87 yards. Grove City also got a significant boost from Jaxyn Wilson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 94 yards.

Conneaut Area's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Grove City, they moved to 5-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Conneaut Area will challenge Girard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Yellowjackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.44 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Grove City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
