Softball Recap: Kennedy Titans vs. James Logan Colts
Kennedy extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-5 in the process. They lost 14-0 to the James Logan Colts. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in March.
As for James Logan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.
For James Logan's part, Corynn Gracey tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Gracey has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Medellin, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Janessa Parras was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
