Basketball Game Preview: Surry Central Golden Eagles vs. Forbush Falcons

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Surry Central Golden Eagles duke it out with the Forbush Falcons at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday... The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Surry Central has five straight victories, Forbush has 32 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

If Forbush heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Surry Central took over last week. Surry Central came out on top against Elkin by a score of 66-59 on Friday. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Buckin' Elks are ranked 423rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Forbush had to suffer through a 84-29 loss at the hands of North Surry.

Surry Central pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Forbush, their loss dropped their record down to 0-19.

Everything came up roses for Surry Central against Forbush in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 76-33 victory. In that contest, Surry Central amassed a halftime lead of 43-15, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
