Baseball Game Preview: Chavez Titans vs. Kennedy Thunderbirds

For the second straight game, Chavez will face off against Kennedy. The Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Thunderbirds at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Chavez was handed a nine-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Kennedy 5-4. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Thunderbirds recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

For Kennedy's part, Miguel Gutierrez was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gutierrez has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Gutierrez wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Diego Ruiz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Chavez's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kennedy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-12 record.
