Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Comes Up Short

Santa Fe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the Savanna Rebels at home by a 93-75 margin.

It was another big night for Branden Ellis, who went 13 for 25 on his way to 32 points and three steals for Savanna. With that strong performance, Ellis is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathys Rudel, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Savanna, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.

Santa Fe will head out to take on Whittier at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Whittier knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Santa Fe likes a good challenge. As for Savanna, they will welcome Los Amigos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Savanna is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.
