Volleyball Game Preview: Kecoughtan Warriors vs. Menchville Monarchs + How To Watch

The Kecoughtan Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Menchville Monarchs at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Kecoughtan came up short against Gloucester on Wednesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered against the Dukes since August 30, 2022.

While Kecoughtan ultimately came up short, they really made Gloucester work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-23, 26-24, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Menchville faced Western Branch in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Monarchs fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 3-2. The Monarchs' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Menchville wouldn't go down easily and took Western Branch into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-15, 25-23, 15-25, 15-12.

Kecoughtan's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Menchville, their loss dropped their record down to 17-4.
