Basketball Recap: Dixie Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Dixie, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They secured a 55-51 W over the Pine View Panthers on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Flyers: when they faced off against the Panthers back in January, they had to take a 48-44 defeat.

It was another big night for Tyson Forsey, who went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Tyler Walter was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six boards and four blocks.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jelani Odjegba, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points. Odjegba is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Caleb Schmitt, who posted seven points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Dixie's record is now 14-7. As for Pine View, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.

Dixie is taking a road trip to challenge Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Snow Canyon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Pine View, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Desert Hills at 7:00 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Ben Chase and Odjegba.
