Basketball Recap: Porter Takes a Loss

Porter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Splendora Wildcats. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 53-50.

When it comes to explaining why Porter lost, don't look at Kai Hitchens. Despite the final result, he posted 23 points.

Splendora was led to victory by JC Beaber and Ja'Mari Brumley. Beaber put up 11 points, while Brumley scored nine points. Brumley has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Ryan Small was another key player, putting up six points.

Porter's defeat dropped their record down to 8-21. As for Splendora, the victory snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 10-19 record.

Coincidentally, Porter and Splendora will both be playing Kingwood Park the next time they take the court. The Spartans will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
