Basketball Recap: Foxcroft None vs. Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Christchurch School, the Foxcroft None were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They snuck past Randolph-Macon Academy with a 26-22 win. That's another feather in the cap for Foxcroft, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Foxcroft got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tashae' Allen out in front who scored nine points. Irene Boehm was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
When it comes to explaining why Randolph-Macon Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kay Perry. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points.
Foxcroft's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Randolph-Macon Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Foxcroft won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Highland: 25.5, the None: 26.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Randolph-Macon Academy is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on February 6th.
