Capital Athletic League recap October 1, 2013

El Camino moved up to 343 from 410 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Capital Athletic League. The Eagles were able to move up by beating Bella Vista 70-28.

El Camino took down the Broncos 70-28 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kamani Elam threw for 69 yards and ran for 35 yards during the win.

Drew Romo was a passing and rushing force as Whitney beat Christian Brothers. He completed 15 passes for 161 yards and also ran for 11 yards. Romo's favorite target this week was Justin Herrmann, who caught 9 passes for 86 yards.

Oleg Kubay was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Wildcats bested the Falcons. The 6-foot-0 senior.

Tyler McCombs put up the best numbers in passing as Antelope beat Armijo. He finished with a total of 9 completions for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns. McCombs' favorite target this week was Jake Purther, who caught 3 passes for 39 yards.

Whitney's Romo and Kris Corpus led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Romo has thrown for 924 yards this season, while Corpus, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 14 catches for 255 yards. The Titans' Titus Vinson leads the league in rushing yards with 441.

Adam Reinking's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,364 from 5,564. The improvement was largely due to a 70-28 victory over Bella Vista last week.
