Recap: Vasquez Mustangs vs. St. Monica Academy Crusaders
It was a good run, but the Vasquez Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to St. Monica Academy 82-78. Vasquez was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the defeat, Vasquez had strong showings from Gavin Battey, who scored 30 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Noah Rowley, who scored 30 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Battey has scored all season. Adam Wyganowski was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds.
Vasquez's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-9. As for St. Monica Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.
Vasquez does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Monica Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m.
