Basketball Recap: Foard Comes Up Short

Foard lost against North Lincoln back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Foard Tigers took a blow against the North Lincoln Knights, falling 66-36. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Foard lost, don't look at Jessica Bailey. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and seven rebounds. Bailey continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Ashlyn Black continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for North Lincoln, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave Black a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Addison Grice, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Foard and nudges their season record down to 12-10. As for North Lincoln, the victory (which was their 20th in a row) raised their record to 20-1.

Looking ahead, Foard will be playing at home against Hickory at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Foard is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season. As for North Lincoln, they will venture away from home to challenge West Iredell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for West Iredell: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while North Lincoln has snatched up nine consecutive wins on the road.
