Preview: Pleasant Grove Spartans vs. Fairfield Tigers
Pleasant Grove is 10-0 against Fairfield since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Pleasant Grove Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Fairfield Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Pleasant Grove has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 338 points over their last five contests.
Even though Central scored an imposing 57 points on Monday, Pleasant Grove still came out on top. Pleasant Grove managed a 62-57 victory over Central.
Meanwhile, Fairfield's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 58-37 loss at the hands of Wenonah. While losing is never fun, Fairfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Wenonah is ranked 53rd).
Pleasant Grove is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Fairfield, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Pleasant Grove against Fairfield in their previous matchup on January 5th as the team secured a 66-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pleasant Grove since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
