Basketball Game Preview: Greenville Red Raiders vs. Riverside Warriors

Greenville has won ten straight games at home, while Riverside has won ten straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Greenville Red Raiders will host the Riverside Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Greenville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Greenwood 82-58. The Red Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Riverside won against James F. Byrnes two weeks ago with 63 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Riverside took down Catawba Ridge 63-49. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Copperheads are ranked 94th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greenville's victory bumped their record up to 25-2. As for Riverside, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Greenville barely slipped by Riverside when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 54-53. Will Greenville repeat their success, or does Riverside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
