Baseball Recap: Perry Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Perry came out on top against Lansing Christian on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Ramblers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Pilgrims. The Ramblers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Tyger Whitbeck and Johnny McConnell did most of the damage at the plate: Whitbeck went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while McConnell got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. McConnell is becoming a predictor of Perry's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 9-10-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Krupp, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

The victory (which was Perry's third in a row) raised their record to 14-10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Lansing Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry will challenge Laingsburg at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lansing Christian, they will square off against Bath at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
