Softball Recap: Cordova Takes a Loss

Cordova was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carbon Hill Bulldogs. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 7-1.

Ella Grace Madison made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Vance, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Cordova's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Carbon Hill, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cordova will face off against Hayden at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Carbon Hill, they will square off against Dora at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
