Volleyball Recap: Harding Raiders vs. Canfield Cardinals

Harding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Canfield Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-9, 25-15.

Sha'Leea Williams paced Harding's offense, picking up five kills. Williams got some help from Alaina Wagner and her 13 assists. Daina Wagner controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Canfield can attribute much of their success to Carly Fleming, who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces Fleming has posted since back in October of 2024. Chi Chi Papalia also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Harding's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Canfield, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harding will head out to take on John F. Kennedy Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Canfield, they will challenge Cardinal Mooney at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
