Softball Recap: Odem Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Odem ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Aransas Pass Panthers 9-8. The victory was familiar territory for the Owls, who have now won three games in a row.

Aria Bray spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Julia Garza, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Anabella Santellana was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Odem's record is now 12-13. As for Aransas Pass, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12-1 record this season.
