Softball Recap: Summit Comes Up Short

The matchup between Summit and Carter on Tuesday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The SkyHawks fell just short of the Lions by a score of 12-11. Even though they lost, the SkyHawks' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.3 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Isabella Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Ramos, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Carter, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Summit will take on Colton at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The SkyHawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellowjackets have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Carter, they will face off against Grand Terrace at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
