Baseball Recap: Lake Park Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Charles North, Lake Park was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Wheaton North Falcons by a score of 4-1. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Patrick St. John spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lake Park is 7-3 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Lake Park saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Ray, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Ronnie Bender was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Lake Park now has a winning record of 16-15. As for Wheaton North, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-16-1.

Lake Park will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
