Basketball Recap: McIntosh Takes a Loss

McIntosh suffered their biggest loss since November 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Jackson Aggies 76-44. The Demons have struggled against the Aggies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

McIntosh lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Corey Williams, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 boards. Brayden Dixon was another key player, putting up eight points along with five rebounds and four blocks.

Even though they lost, McIntosh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Leading Jackson to victory were Roderick Hamilton Jr. and Keeyun Chapman. Hamilton Jr. went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points and four steals, while Chapman almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Taylor, who posted seven points in addition to six assists and four steals.

McIntosh's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Jackson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

McIntosh has already played their next matchup, an 80-60 loss against Clarke County on the 30th. As for Jackson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 73-36 victory against Wilcox Central on the 29th.
