Football Recap: Crean Lutheran Starts off Right with Win over Mullen

Crean Lutheran took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 30-14 victory over the Mullen Mustangs. The win was all the more spectacular given the Saints' disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 140th in California, while the Mustangs are ranked 34th in Colorado).

Caden Jones went supernova, throwing for 288 yards and three TDs. What's more, he racked up 135.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Dillon Booth was Jones' top target, picking up 81 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Despite the loss, Mullen still got an impressive performance from Dante Dupuch, who rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 35 receiving yards.

Looking ahead, Crean Lutheran will host St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mullen, they will head out to face off against Castle View at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
