Softball Game Preview: Greenwich Country Day Tigers vs. Hamden Hall Country Day Hornets

The Greenwich Country Day Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Hamden Hall Country Day Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Greenwich Country Day is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Greenwich Country Day fell victim to Greens Farms Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 18-0 to the Dragons.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Hamden Hall Country Day sidestepped Canterbury School for a 4-3 win.

Chloe Carling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Melanie Carling was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Caitlin Leslie, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.

Hamden Hall Country Day's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Greenwich Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
