Volleyball Recap: El Capitan Comes Up Short

El Capitan lost against McLane back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The El Capitan Gauchos fell 3-1 to the McLane Highlanders. The Gauchos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While El Capitan ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20.

El Capitan's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for McLane, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Capitan will be taking part in a tournament against Fresno at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. El Capitan is facing Fresno at the right time seeing as Fresno is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for McLane, they will venture away from home to square off against Roosevelt at 6:00 p.m. on March 20th.
