Baseball Recap: Cohasset Victorious

Cohasset proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by seven) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the West Bridgewater Wildcats 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Skippers: when they faced off against the Wildcats last Thursday, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Tucker Bliss made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cohasset is undefeated when Bliss allows three or fewer hits, but 4-10 otherwise. Bliss was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Austin Soderberg was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ian Konradt, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Cohasset pushed their record up to 9-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for West Bridgewater, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Cohasset nor West Bridgewater have any future games scheduled.
