Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Bay City's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Bay City's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Wharton Tigers by a score of 57-50. This was payback for the Blackcats, who suffered a 92-37 loss the last time these two teams met.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Javien Smith, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Smith a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jameir Hearne-Robinson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Bay City is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.1 points per game. As for Wharton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-9 record this season.
