Softball Recap: Life Waxahachie Takes a Loss

Life Waxahachie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 19-3 to the Hillsboro Eagles. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Nevaeh Esparza made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Bre Trammell also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Life Waxahachie's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Hillsboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Life Waxahachie will be playing in front of their home fans against Godley at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Godley will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Life Waxahachie surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hillsboro, they are taking a road trip to square off against Venus at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Venus' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Hillsboro's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
