Volleyball Recap: Avon Comes Up Short

Avon lost against Simsbury back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Falcons lost 3-0 to the Trojans. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-11, 25-7.

Maddie Vanvalkenburgh paced Avon's offense, picking up four kills. Vanvalkenburgh got some help from Bella Peterson and her five assists.

Avon's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Simsbury, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Avon has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Hall on the 6th. As for Simsbury, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Bristol Central on the 6th.
