            Softball Recap: Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Bedford Kicking Mules        
        
		
        
        
            Lincoln won the last time they faced Bedford and things went their way  on Monday too. The Railsplitters sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-6  victory over the Kicking Mules.

 Savanna Kane made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and four unearned) runs off   four  hits. Those  nine  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  McKaylie Kern was  excellent,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with one  home run and two  RBI. That  home run was  her first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Ava Greene, who  went 1-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.
Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 9-4-1. As for Bedford, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 13-4-1.
 Lincoln and Bedford should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Railsplitters will  take on  Jackson  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday with a big rank  advantage  (114 vs. 487). Meanwhile,  Bedford (ranked 52nd) will meet Adrian (ranked 327th)  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
