Volleyball Recap: Benson Beats Willcox for Their Fifth Straight Win

Benson posted their closest win since September 9th on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Willcox Cowboys 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won five contests in a row.

Benson wouldn't go down easily and took Willcox into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-22, 23-25, 21-25, 15-10.

Hazel Chapman paced Benson's offense, picking up 12 kills. Chapman got some help from Karris Taylor and her 21 assists. Chapman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Benson's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Willcox, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Benson and Willcox should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. The Bobcats (ranked 141st) will meet Santa Rita (ranked 311th) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Willcox will challenge San Miguel at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (147 vs. 301).
