Volleyball Recap: Olivia Jeffers and Kendall Dover Secure Win for West Platte

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mid-Buchanan, West Platte was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the University Academy Charter Gryphons 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant West Platte was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-14, 25-15.

West Platte was led to victory by Kendall Dover and Olivia Jeffers. Dover had 15 digs, while Jeffers had three digs and three aces. That's the most digs Jeffers has posted over her last ten matchups. Jaylee Carlson also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: West Platte was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are 11-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

West Platte's victory bumped their record up to 17-13-2. As for University Academy Charter, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8-1.

Coincidentally, West Platte and University Academy Charter will both be playing Rock Port the next time they take the court. The Gryphons will head out to face the Blue Jays at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bluejays will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
