Baseball Recap: Fossil Ridge's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Fossil Ridge unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Windsor Wizards by a score of 4-3. The SaberCats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wizards earlier this season, when they won 8-3.

Vedant Sharma was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Luc Gaca-Thiele was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Morgan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Fossil Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Windsor, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6.

As of now, neither Fossil Ridge nor the Wizards have any future games scheduled.
