Recap: Marion Warriors vs. Elyria Christian
While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, the Marion Warriors were not quite Elyria Christian's equal in the second half on Saturday. Marion fell just short of Elyria Christian by a score of 50-48. Marion has struggled against Elyria Christian recently, as their game on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Marion still got an impressive performance from Grace Hett, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Hett's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for four games straight. Erin Regnier was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Marion's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Elyria Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion and Council Grove will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Elyria Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Centre at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Centre is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
