Volleyball Recap: Sulphur Springs Gets the Win

Sulphur Springs won the last time they faced Hughes Springs and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Mustangs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Sulphur Springs was: they took both sets by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-11.

Rainey Johnson paced Sulphur Springs' offense, picking up nine kills. Johnson got some help from Harper Hodges and her 16 assists. Sophie Schaack controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Sulphur Springs' win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Hughes Springs, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Sulphur Springs has already played their next match (against Mabank), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hughes Springs, they will square off against Paris at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
