Softball Game Preview: Victoria West Warriors vs. Ingleside Mustangs

The Victoria West Warriors will challenge the Ingleside Mustangs at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Victoria West's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last seven matches.

Victoria West fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Victoria East on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 17-16. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Victoria West got a massive performance out of Abigayle Stephens, who went 4-for-6 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Celeste Kubicek, who scored four runs while going 3-for-5.

Meanwhile, Ingleside made easy work of Calhoun on Friday and carried off a 9-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Ingleside has been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Victoria West, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.
