Basketball Recap: Raton Victorious

Clayton came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Raton, but Chase Walton wouldn't allow it. The Raton Tigers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Clayton Yellowjackets 64-61 thanks in part to Walton, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten boards. He has been hot, having also posted three or more blocks the last five times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Tyler Petrini, who posted five points along with 13 rebounds and four steals. What's more, he also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Raton now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Clayton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Raton will square off against Tucumcari at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Clayton, they will challenge Pecos at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
