Basketball Game Preview: Dobbs Ferry Eagles vs. Woodlands Falcons

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles take on the Falcons at 5:15 p.m. on Sunday. Dobbs Ferry knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Woodlands likes a good challenge.

Dobbs Ferry is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 64-55 victory over The Leffell School. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Woodlands really took it to Hastings for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-23 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-8.

Dobbs Ferry's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Woodlands, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-2.

Dobbs Ferry came up short against Woodlands in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 75-65. Can Dobbs Ferry avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
