Preview: El Capitan/Centennial Academy vs. Water Canyon Wildcats
El Capitan/Centennial Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Water Canyon Wildcats at 4:45 p.m. on December 8th. El Capitan/Centennial Academy's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Water Canyon's offense will have their work cut out for Water Canyon.
Last Wednesday, El Capitan/Centennial Academy came up short against Valley and fell 44-33.
Meanwhile, Water Canyon strolled past Pinnacle with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 29-12. The win made it back-to-back wins for Water Canyon.
Water Canyon can attribute much of their success to Martha Jessop, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jessop has scored at least 25% of Water Canyon's points. Alysha Cooke was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 12 rebounds.
El Capitan/Centennial Academy's win lifted them to 4-3 while Valley's defeat dropped them down to 1-4.
Everything came up roses for El Capitan/Centennial Academy against Water Canyon when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 51-24 win.
